What is a podiatrist?
Podiatrists are health care professionals who have been trained to prevent, diagnose, treat and rehabilitate abnormal conditions of the feet and lower limbs. They can also treat and alleviate day-to-day foot problems, including: toenail problems, such as thickened, fungal or ingrown toenails. corns and calluses.
What happens if I am a new patient?
We will discuss your problem and ask about your medical history. A thorough examination will then follow. We may request examinations and tests to assist and support our diagnosis. We will discuss with you the results of your examination and we will recommend the proper treatment. If follow-up consultation or further consultations are required, our staff will schedule your next appointment that is most convenient for you.
What ailments does a podiatrist treat?
Conditions encountered may include: Abnormal walking patterns (e.g. In-toe gait and Out-toe gait), Aching Feet, Aching Legs, Ankle Pain, Arch Pain, Athletes Foot and Blisters.
What can I expect at an appointment?
When you arrive at Costello Foot and Ankle Clinic, the staff will greet you and check you in as soon as possible. Dr. Costello will review your concerns with you, do a complete evaluation, and develop a treatment plan with you.
How do I pay?
We accept cash, check or credit card. We also accept HSA and FSA debit cards and offer CareCredit with great financing terms such as 0% interest if paid in full in 6 or 12 months.
Can I submit a claim to my insurance?
Upon request, we will provide you with an itemized bill with all of the necessary information for you to file a claim with your insurance company. However, we cannot guarantee that your insurance company will reimburse you. All questions regarding your insurance coverage and reimbursement should be directed toward your insurance company or benefits manager.
What is your payment policy?
We require you to pay immediately after you are seen and treated by the doctor. We do this to keep the cost as low as possible for people who don’t have insurance, or who have yet to reach their insurance deductible for the year, or who want something done that may not be covered by insurance
What if I have Medicare or Medicaid?
We do not participate in any government health care programs. If you have Medicare or Medicaid, the government requires you to sign a form before being seen by us. Unlike private insurance companies, Medicare and Medicaid will not pay for medical services to physicians who do not participate in their programs. Since Costello Foot and Ankle Clinic has decided to opt out of government health care, the government will not pay for any medical care given at this office. We do not work for the government; we work for you!
What if I have insurance?
If you have insurance (with the exception of Medicare or Medicaid), we will be glad to provide a medical claim for you to file with your insurance company. Please note, however, we cannot guarantee you that your insurance company will reimburse you for this visit. All questions regarding your insurance reimbursement should be directed to your insurance carrier.
